I recently met Melissa Flores, from SuperGlamNews, at the We All Grow Summit. I am a fan of her YouTube makeup tutorials and was honored that she agreed to share some tips with my readers! As I follow Melissa on Periscope and Instagram, I noticed that she regularly practices self-care and enjoys inspirational books, like myself!
If you follow her YouTube channel you can learn more about easy and affordable makeup routines, as well as hair and skin care! I have included one of her videos below! First, let’s get to the questions!
1.Tell us a little about yourself!
My name is Melissa Flores and I am a beauty and lifestyle blogger. I’ve been blogging for over 5 years on SuperGlamNews.com. I also create videos on my YouTube channel. My channel includes makeup tutorials, product reviews and weekly vlogs of me sharing my life with the world. I love helping girls achieve their digital dreams. I’ve created online courses for individuals who also want to be content creators and follow my path.
2.I’m sure you get a lot of questions on your Instagram and Periscopes about simplifying beauty routines. What advice would you give for the busy woman out there who wants to add beauty to her self-care routine?
Beauty is fun and doesn’t need to be complicated!
Foundation, concealer and mascara are all you need if you’re in a rush and need to get out the door. They help even out your skin tone, give you a flawless appearance and mascara will brighten up your eyes.
3. How do you implement self-care into your routine? How can you tell that you need to take more time for yourself?
One thing I take very seriously is my skin care routine. It’s important to moisturize, have a good eye cream and do an occasional face mask. Being on top of my skin care routine allows me to have fun with makeup.
If I start feeling overwhelmed, I know it’s time for some me-time. I love watching my favorite shows to unwind or dive into a good book.
4.How do you handle times when you feel “less than confident?”
We all have moments when we don’t feel our best or not confident at all. Personally, I don’t like to dwell on the things that I can’t change. If I’ve put on some weight — then I work out and change my eating habits. If my hair doesn’t look good — I wash it and try a different look.
The physical things that make us feel not so confident can always be changed. In order to move past those things I focus more on loving myself and being proud of myself.
Inner confidence will get you through the other moments. - Melissa Flores, SuperGlamNews Click To Tweet

How can you implement beauty/skin care into your self-care routine??
Great tips. I used to only wear foundation, blush and mascara but after having my son I added concealer to my routine (sometimes more than one layer of it to cover dark circles.) Hah!
Thank you for commenting Cristalia! I swear by concealer, almost more than foundation!!
