The Focus On You

Self-Care Is A Lifestyle

Meet Stefanie!

What made me become a blogger?

I have always wanted to become a writer and I picked up the pen again in 2014 after the sudden loss of my beagle. Journaling through my grief was a source of comfort. Surprisingly, it woke up my desire to write.

As I mindlessly scrolled through my social media sites I realized that I could write just as well as everyone else! I wanted to be part of a larger community of writers and ultimately, help people learn about self-care.

What expertise do I have?

I’m currently a licensed mental health therapist in Nevada and work with trauma survivors. In my 14 years of work as a therapist one of the #1 treatments I have recommended is self-care.

Self-care doesn’t discriminate. It is essential for everyone. SeIf-care is not just for people in recovery or with a particular diagnosis. I wanted to create a website full of resources on how you can FOCUS ON YOU!

When people realize their needs and values, we all operate better.

We love better. We’re better parents, family members, employees and humans, in general.

Personally, I HAVE to implement self-care because of a chronic pain condition. Without focusing on ME, I wouldn’t be able to write, help clients in need or be able to show up for my family. My quality of life would suffer without the self-care standards I set for my life.

I not only preach it, but I practice it every day.

Let me show you how to make yourself a priority again!

So let’s learn together! And let’s put the FOCUS back on YOU!!

What I love…..

  • Hearty laughs with my amazing and supportive husband….he truly brings me joy!
  • Travel is my vice and my self-care. It refreshes my spirit, helps me unplug and helps me express gratitude for all my blessings.
  • Central Park. My zen. My heart. Truly peaceful.
  • Working out, yoga or dancing salsa! If you know me, you know I can’t live without MUSIC!
  • Authentic Latino food. Although I am Mexican-American I travel to cities particularly for Dominican, Puerto Rican or Cuban food.
  • Taking walks with our 2 beagles and remembering happy memories of our puppy in heaven as well…

  1. Thank you for the feedback! For personal reasons I would like to keep some information away from the blog. I’m pretty transparent in other ways through my social media though!
